Great interview on Maddow re: growing rightwing fascism

We on the left mostly realize that the organized townhall mobs really are not mostly about healthcare, it's more about the fact that they aren't in power, and could be also just a refusal to accept having a half-black President.

Frank Schaeffer does a terrific job explaining exactly what is going on, and it's quite chilling.

as illuminating as testimony from someone like mr. schaeffer is, i get depressed realizing that the people that need to hear this don't. most people aren't watching programs like this, and they don't realize what's going on behind closed doors in d.c.. the fundies will brand schaeffer a lying traitor, and they won't change their thinking. i really fear that some fundie crazy is going to do something drastic. i hope that's not what it takes to make people finally pay attention.

i don't know what just happened. i left a comment, and it seems to have disappeared.

the gist of what i said is that most people are not paying attention to what mr. schaeffer is saying. the fundies will brand him a treacherous lying traitor, and they won't change their thinking. i fear that some fundie is going to do something really drastic. i hate to think that's what it will take for most people to finally pay attention.

Nonnie, it didn't disappear (sorry!) I just had a troll/stalker attack the other night and so I turned on moderation.

That being said, I completely agree! With the mainstream media in lock-step with the fascist townhall thugs, it's not looking good.

Rachel is so great, I never miss her. If I am not going to be around it's dvr'd daily.

These reichwing nutters do not even realize how they are being used. They say they hate socialism yet they love medicare..assholes, medicare IS socialized medicine!

They are being used. They are part of a vast right wing conspiracy.

Darn those trolls! One has found my blog, but it hasn't been bad so far. If he brings his friend along (I argue with them from time to time at another blog) I'll have to put up a big "Don't Feed the Trolls" sign, and if that doesn't work, "comment moderation" here I come. I like my blog, but I have better things to do than spend an hour a day on it trying to put out brushfires. I'm way too OCD to not worry about it, so I'd just have to moderate mine too!

As for Shaeffer, it's like Nonnie said. This amazing info is out there... it's almost like this guy is a whistleblower, kind of... and nobody is going to even read his comments, watch this video, hear interviews with him... because the media is too busy right now lending credence to things like the astroturfed protests and Sarah Palin's rantings.

Wow, the trollies are feeling super threatened and paranoid today. Good.

Of course I have to delete the blather... but I did get a good chuckle.

Hope you don't mind my posting this link, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/#32393616
to a great television moment, showing a typical republican voter!!
Un-informed, un-educated, un-involved unless a black man, or any democrat, is in office, confused even about how much money ...her own family makes, and fueled by fear, ignorance and racism, HYPOCRITICAL to the bone since she wants her medicare and social security but doesn't want anyone else to get any help. All of her information has probably come from her husband since he handles all the bills and stuff like that, and maybe she listens to Rush for talking points now that she has found an interest in public speaking. Odonnell politely and calmly, and with her full cooperation, exposes her for the empty headed, slogan spouting, uncomprehending fool that she is.
Now that Palin's numbers are falling maybe this woman, Katy Abram, will be the repub nominee in 2012.Read More

kenny453 there are a lot of great moments in wingnuttery being exposed on MSNBC - we all know they won't be shown anywhere else.

The GOP are so idiotic that they fought to remove language (that they call Obama's "death panel") from the bill that they themselves put in there, just because a couple of GOP nutbags (Palin and Betsy Coe) misrepresented it. That's all they have. Sabotaging their own contributions to the bill.

Let the circus continue!

About "Just Ain't Right"

Starting in 2005 as a means to rant about things that piss me off, it quickly turned more political than anything else. If I can encourage even one person to start paying attention (who already isn't) then it will have not been in vain.
